At Veins North West we offer assessments and treatments to both insured and self-funding patients.
Insured-If you are insured then you will need to consult with your insurers regarding their fees and cover structure. The providers at Veins North West are covered by all the major insurers for consultations and treatments performed at Kingsbridge North West Hospital. A word of caution, most insurers will not cover the treatment of thread veins and some have restrictions on varicose vein treatments.
Self-funding-If you are self-funding this is what you can expect to pay.
Traditional Face to Face consultation with examination and scan £250
This consultation takes place face to face in a clinic room. A detailed history will be taken and we will discuss your expectations from treatment. A colour duplex scan will be undertaken to map out you veins and to identify to source of your venous problems. Other imaging may also be undertaken at this time. Very occasionally, in complex cases further tests are required. If this is the case you will be informed at the time of the examination.
A written report will be sent to you and your family doctor summarising the consultation and the proposed treatment plan.

Treatments- Varicose Veins
Laser single leg starts from £1440
Laser both legs at 1 sitting from £2020
Ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy starts from £460
(usually this treatment is performer 1 leg at a time because there are limits to the volume of foam that can be injected in a sitting.)
Treatment- Thread Veins
Microsclerotherapy both legs starts from £430
Thread vein treatment- usually require a course of treatments to produce noticeable changes. Be aware you may need a combination of treatments to complete your bespoke treatment plan
You will usually be reviewed 2 to 3 months after treatment to assess your progress
review appointments start at £100 for self funding patients.
If you are a cross border patient and are already on a waiting list for treatment of your veins then you may be eligible to avail of the HSE cross border initiative. If this is the case, the HSE may reimburse you some, or all of the fee’s you have incurred for treatment.
